The Ethos of Christian Higher Education Institutions That Empower Female Leaders
Katrina L. Chapman
ProQuest LLC, Ed.D. Dissertation, Trevecca Nazarene University
The purpose of this qualitative case study was to understand how Christian higher education institutions within the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU) empower women into executive levels of leadership. More research has been done on women and breaking barriers to leadership, however, less research has been done on the institutions that empower women and what they do to empower them. This study was exploratory in nature to help inform the higher education community regarding what institutions are doing intentionally to help empower women in progressive levels of leadership. This study will permit institutions to hear directly from women and men at CCCU institutions and learn from their experiences on what helps women succeed in leadership.
