ProQuest LLC, Ed.D. Dissertation, Trevecca Nazarene University
This study investigated the consequences of students residing in the Foster Care System-FCS or State Custody. These challenges are exacerbated by the fact that attendance, GPA, and disciplinary infractions are adversely affected by students completing a successful academic school year. This research consisted of already existing data from the local school district of both students in the FCS or state custody and students in a traditional household. The research involved qualitative and quantitative data of foster care workers within the urban area of Tennessee. The findings concluded how foster care workers exhibited an integral role in students' academic achievement, but the data still succumbed lower than their traditional counterparts.
