Sir Snowden
ProQuest LLC, Ed.D. Dissertation, Southern Connecticut State University
This action research project explores the current university-community school-based partnerships between Paterson community organizations and WU. This study's research question is, "What current university-community school-based partnerships exist between the Paterson community organizations and WU?" This study uses only the first action research cycle with a contemporary approach to grounded theory coding as an analytical method to analyze interview data from stakeholders involved in these partnerships. The findings of this study shed light on the various forms of university-community school-based partnerships that exist in the Paterson community, including teacher training programs, youth development initiatives, and community engagement programs. The study also identifies the challenges and opportunities in these partnerships and provides recommendations for strengthening and expanding these partnerships to support the Paterson community better for cycles 2 and 3. The study highlights the importance of university-community school-based partnerships to promote educational equity and social justice in local communities.
