Meitra Lak Perry
ProQuest LLC, Ed.D. Dissertation, University of West Georgia
The following dissertation study will evaluate how, if at all, does participation in the La Comunidad de Latnios (LCL) small group improve the perceptions and high school experiences with regards to post-secondary options for Latino students. Focus groups were evaluated and discussed, and recurring themes were considered to understand how Latino high school students interpret their experiences and the meaning attributed to those experiences. The goal of the study was to find out if participation in the LCL group creates more positive perceptions of higher education for Latino students, and if so, having the LCL group model adopted by other public high schools.
