The purpose of this study is to assess the knowledge and skills that are needed within Louisiana postsecondary institutions to obtain four- and five-star jobs in computer and information technology. The study will examine computer science and information systems curricula at select colleges in the state and compare course offerings with skills needed for four- and five-star jobs in the state of Louisianan. The study will also explore the impact of partnerships with technology companies inclosing the skills gaps in preparing graduates for those jobs. Surveys will be conducted with students, faculty/staff and alumni from Louisiana postsecondary institutions as well as corporate partners with those institutions. Supplemental data will be collected through interviews and gap analysis reports to determine if curriculum offerings align with career-readiness for labor demands and if institutional partnerships with technology companies help to close skill gaps.
