Perceptions of Indiana School Principals of Critical Policy Requirements in the Every Student Succeeds Act

The purpose of this quantitative research study was to determine if there were differences in perception among Indiana public school principals on the federal requirements of ESSA in the three policy areas of accountability, school improvement, and fiscal reporting that differ from current state requirements. This study surveyed all traditional public school and charter school principals in Indiana regarding with 22 statements of policy and 6 demographic questions. Three different one-way ANOVA tests were run to find statistic differences on each null hypothesis. Finding no significant differences, each null was retained. There were no differences in perception among Indiana public school principals on the federal requirements of ESSA in the three policy areas surveyed.
