From Surviving to Thriving: An Examination of the Experiences of Black Women Faculty in Community College
Julie Keiffer-Lewis
ProQuest LLC, Ed.D. Dissertation, Mills College
Black women faculty members at institutions of higher education in the United States are rare. By examining the unique experiences Black women faculty members in community colleges endure, this project aims to acknowledge, assess, and affirm the distinctive experiences of this cadre. Its intent is to disseminate the findings and advocate for support of Black women faculty members so they can have the opportunity to thrive at institutions that were never designed for their survival.
