District Leaders' Perceptions and Interpretations Concerning a Large School District's Internet and Technology Policy
Adrian Bustillos
ProQuest LLC, Ph.D. Dissertation, New Mexico State University
The use of technologies in schools has grown over time along with the accessibility of technology tools. Unfortunately, educators have been reluctant to incorporate technology in their lessons, as they are more knowledgeable and comfortable with traditional teaching modalities (Daniels et al., 2013; Hyun et al., 2017; Tyler-Wood et al., 2018). Professional training for educators can encourage educators' self-efficacy and facilitate educators' use of technology in their classrooms (Harris & Hofer, 2011; Tinto, 2012). Technology integration in public schools is important because it places students in control of their own learning (Monk & Newton, 2018). And, in the end school districts can support technology integration through school board policy (Foulger et al., 2017; Thannimalai & Raman, 2018).
