ProQuest LLC, D.B.A. Dissertation, Trident University International
This qualitative case study discussed the security training and awareness for iMiTs Art's cloud and information systems due to the digital transition to cloud computing capabilities and usage. The study was based on the technology acceptance of the TAM (Technology Acceptance Model) model, security training concepts of SETA (Security Education and Training Awareness), and organizational context of TOE (Technology-Organization-Environment) framework. There was an examination of iMiTs Art security education training and awareness in the workplace through three instruments consisting of a questionnaire, follow-up interview, and observation. The sample size consisted of 22 participants who were over the age of 18 and worked for iMiTs Art. The data was analyzed using the Braun and Clarke six-step process to answer the two research questions: How does iMiTs Art utilize security education training goals and awareness in the workplace? How could implementing security education and awareness training in iMiTs Art improve their data security? Six themes were discovered that contributed to answering the two research questions for this study, including iMiTs Art employee's use of data security procedures and protocols, the operational use of training through cloud computing usage of iMiTs Art's Employees, the current engagement with the data protection policy of iMiTs Art, implementing constructive improvement through data security awareness, the need for additional security training amongst employees in iMiTs Art, and securing data strategies. These themes were used to describe six implications on the practices of the organization and three recommendations for improvement of the utilization of security education and training within iMiTs Art.
