Analyzing the Impact of a CAT Time Response to Intervention Program
Elizabeth J. Fleer
ProQuest LLC, Ed.D. Dissertation, University of Missouri - Columbia
The purpose of this mixed methods study was to examine at-risk students in a small rural high school and school district, and the implementation of a response to intervention program at the high school called CAT Time. CAT Time is approximately 40 mins long and occurs four times per week. Teachers can request a student participate in the CAT Time interventions or a student may request CAT Time with a particular teacher. This study specifically wanted to see whether or not students with high absenteeism were being identified for interventions, and whether or not being at-risk and selected for interventions increased their mean GPA and rate of graduating with their four-year cohort class.
