Are Approved Assessment Instruments Identified? If So, Which Assessments Are Used or Allowed? Are Uniform Cut Scores Identified? If So, What Are the Cut Scores for These Common Assessments? 50-State Comparison: Developmental Education Policies
Education Commission of the States
This resource provides data on the use of assessment instruments and uniform cut scores. The cut scores presented in this resource are the lowest scores a student can receive on an assessment to be considered college-ready. An asterisk indicates that the state uses a subject area test score for the SAT. "SAT (new)" refers to scores received on the SAT administered after March 2016. "SAT (old)" refers to scores received on the SAT administered prior to March 2016. The COMPASS assessment is no longer administered; however, many states and systems still accept COMPASS scores received within a certain time period.
