Texas Education Agency Annual Report, 2019
Texas Education Agency
The Texas Education Agency's (TEA's) 2019 Annual Report focuses on areas of achievement based on the Agency's Strategic Priorities: (1) Recruit, Support, and Retain Teachers and Principals; (2) Build a Foundation of Reading and Math; (3) Connect High School to Career and College; and (4) Improve Low Performing Schools. A key highlight of TEA's newest annual report pertains to the significant impact brought forth by the passage of House Bill 3 during the 86th Legislative Session. Thanks to this historic legislative achievement, Texas has seen an immediate increase in public school funding of $3.4 billion per year. The funding and reforms provided via HB 3 will have a tremendous impact on the agency's strategic plan to improve outcomes for the state's nearly 5.5 million public school students. [For the 2018 report, see ED594494.]
