This study focused on schools' principals and their connections with community. Because schools' principals play an important role in schools' community relations, the purpose of this study was to investigate the Saudi school principals' perceptions regarding their engagement with the community. This study investigated the school principals' community relations in four different subjects that included families, media, public institutions and private institutions. Each subject included different practices that school principals should apply in order to have strong relation with community. In addition, this study analyzed the participants' demographic data. The researcher applied the study in Howtat Bani Tamim City which is located 160 kilometers south of the Riyadh region, in Saudi Arabia. The population of this study included all principals of public schools for boys and girls in Howtat Bani Tamim. In this study, the researcher used the descriptive approach, which is by reference a description of the study and analysis of data that provides access to the results. A questionnaire was used as a tool in the collection and analysis of data to assess the perceptions of the school principals in the linkage between the school and the community. The researcher answered the research questions by using an existing survey regarding schools' community relations. The survey has four sections; families, media, public institutions and private institutions. These sections followed the questions regarding demographics information. In addition, there were four sub questions regarding each section. Then the researcher analyzed the data by using statistical package for social since (SPSS). This study has two important outcomes. First, participants showed good relations with families and public institutions. Second, participants showed low relations with media and private institutions. In addition, there were detailed findings regarding the practices in each section, and what was the highest practices and the lowest practices in each subject. The researcher analyzed data regarding demographics information about participants. These data included gender, years of experience and educational qualifications. The researcher concluded the study with two kinds of implications. First were the implications regarding practices related to school principals' community relations. Second were implications for future research. [The dissertation citations contained here are published with the permission of ProQuest LLC. Further reproduction is prohibited without permission.
