This paper provides an overview of the goals of the National Summit on K-12 Competency-Based Education, the four papers that formed the basis of discussion at the Summit, and a glossary of terms used in the four papers. The National Summit on K-12 Competency-Based Education was in Denver, Colorado in June 2017. Leading innovators and experts convened at the Summit to discuss the field of competency-based education through the next generation of ideas and actionable outcomes, with a with a strong focus on equity.
