Muniz, Amanda M.
ProQuest LLC, Ed.D. Dissertation, Trevecca Nazarene University
The purpose of this research study was to investigate the impact of 1:1 technology implementation on student engagement and motivation, as well as on student learning in the area of English Language Arts. Teacher attitudes towards implementation were also a part of this study. Grades seven and eight were the focus of this research which was conducted through student surveys, the review of academic data, and a teacher focus group. The findings of this study will inform future decision making by school districts considering the implementation of 1:1 technology within their middle schools and contribute to the existing literature on an initiative that is becoming more and more common in today's technology-driven world.
