The Impact of F-1 Students in Community Colleges: Chief Financial Officers' Perspective
Sevanthinathan, Nithyanantha Javahar
ProQuest LLC, Ed.D. Dissertation, National American University
The U.S. community college is a unique American enterprise in that it is not a national model, but varies by state and locality. Each state created community colleges to support students who had limited or now access to higher education. Per the data collected from 12 community colleges, international students were full-time students, very engaged on campus and provided positive financial revenue for the colleges. Also, the data presented pathways to develop supportive international student recruitment and support programs for community colleges. No programs and international services are consistent across community colleges including revenue generated from out of district or international tuition.
