The BASIS-A Inventory as a Predictor of State and Trait Anxiety in Higher Education Students
Liberadzki, Gregory
ProQuest LLC, Psy.D. Dissertation, Adler School of Professional Psychology
This qualitative study used 97 participants to explore differences in the expression of state, trait, social interest, and taking charge between students with military experience and students without such experience. The results indicated a significant correlation of the scores on the Belonging/Social Interest Subscale (BSI) with trait anxiety, as measured by the BASIS-A Inventory and the STAI. Further, the study found significant differences in scores on the BSI between students with military experience and those without military experience. No significant correlation emerged between students' military experience (or lack thereof) and Taking Charge (TC) scores. The study discovered no statistically significant differences between students' military experience and expression of state and trait anxiety.
