The present phenomenological study was designed to explore the perceived influence of mentorship relationships on the career aspirations of Hispanic students attending a community college in Central Texas. Semistructured one-on-one interviews focused on gaining an insight into the influence that 10 Hispanic students perceived mentoring had on their career aspirations. The data analysis was conducted by using Moustakas's modification of the van Kaam method. From the data analysis, four major themes emerged: (a) the roles of mentors, (b) the lack of administrative, family, and academic support, (c) the influence of ethnicity on the process of mentorship, and (d) role models and achievement. The study findings supported current research and yielded new insights on the perception that the Hispanic community college student participants had of their mentorship experience. The findings of the present study also reaffirmed the importance of role models within the Hispanic community and the importance of developing effective mentoring relationships to help Hispanic college students develop career aspirations and expectations.
