The California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) was developed to ensure that graduating students can demonstrate competency in reading, math, and writing. The high failure rates have created concern among stakeholders. The study was to identify factors that contributed to student success on passing the CAHSEE for students enrolled in SIATech in partnership with Job Corps. Quantitative quasi-experimental causal comparative design, using survey methodology was employed. Analysis of Variance was used to detect mean differences and to explore correlations within the data. A few factors on CAHSEE achievement are length of stay in Job Corps, group and one-on-one instruction, and test-taking strategies. Understanding factors that lead to passing the CAHSEE provides stakeholders with information for designing instruction and instructional support.
