The Chief Information Officer (CIO) at the U.S. Department of Education (the Department) has primary responsibility to ensure that Information Technology (IT) is acquired and information resources are managed in a manner consistent with statutory, regulatory, and Departmental requirements and priorities. This Department Information Resources Management (IRM) Strategic Plan for FY 2010-2014 describes: (1) The relationship between the IT vision and the enterprise business goals and objectives; (2) The set of value-added IT services delivered or planned to be delivered; and (3) The set of IT management processes and plans for ensuring the effective use of IT resources across the Department.
