Alberta Advanced Education and Technology
The graduate of the Hairstylist apprenticeship program is a certified journeyperson who will be able to perform the following tasks: (1) haircutting; (2) chemical texturing, chemical relaxing; (3) hair colouring; (4) eyebrow and eyelash treatment; (5) facial services for hairstyling purposes (moustaches and beards); (6) wigs and hair additions; (7) hair and scalp shampooing, treatments and massage; (8) wet to dry styling; and (9) perform assigned tasks in accordance with quality and production standards required by industry. Advanced Education and Technology has prepared this course outline in partnership with the Hairstylist Provincial Apprenticeship Committee. This course outline contains the following sections: (1) First Period Technical Training; and (2) Second Period Technical Training.
