"Part C Updates" is a compilation of information on various aspects of the Early Intervention Program for Infants and Toddlers with Disabilities (Part C) of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). This is the tenth volume in a series of compilations, which included two editions of Part H Updates, the former name of the program. Several items have been reprinted in their entirety from the original sources. The intent of "Part C Updates" is to collect, in a convenient format, a variety of resources that meet the information needs of state and jurisdictional Part C program staff, the Office of Special Education Programs of the U.S. Department of Education, and policy makers at all levels. Following an introduction, the report contains three sections. Section I, Part C Program Administration, contains: (1) Minimum Components under IDEA of a Statewide Comprehensive System of Early Intervention Services to Infants and Toddlers with Special Needs; (2) Annual Part C Appropriations and Children Served; (3) Part C Allocations to State and Jurisdictional Lead Agencies; (4) Part C Funding Cycles; (5) U.S. Department of Education Organization Chart; (6) OSEP Part C State Contacts; (7) State and Jurisdictional Part C Lead Agencies; (8) Part C Coordinators and Infant/Toddler Program Contacts in States and Jurisdictions; (9) Chairs of State Interagency Coordinating Councils; and (10) Contact List of State ICC Staff. Section II, Part C Program Implementation Resources, contains: (1) States' Part C Rules, Regulations and Policies: On-line Resources; (2) OSEP Policy Letters of Clarification Related to Part C of the IDEA; (3) Fact Sheet: Vulnerable Young Children (NECTAC, May 2008); (4) Developmental Status and Early Intervention Service Needs of Maltreated Children (US Department of Health and Human Services February 2008); (5) Competence and Confidence of Practitioners Working with Children with Disabilities (The Center to Inform Personnel Preparation Policy And Practice In Early Intervention And Early Childhood Special Education, October 2008); (6) A Universal Checklist for Identifying Infants and Toddlers Eligible for Early Intervention (TRACE, November 2007); and (7) Queries: Personnel Certification and Specialized Service Providers for Autism Spectrum Disorders (NECTAC, August 2008). Section III contains Part C Data (Child Count; Trend Data - Child Count; Settings; Trend Data - Settings; Exiting; Trend Data - Exiting; Services; Trend Data - Services). Appended is Federal Statute: Part C of Public Law 108-446, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act of 2004. (Individual publications in Section II contain references.)
