A Proposed Interpretation of the ISO 10015 and Implications for HRD Theory and Research
Jacobs, Ronald L.; Wang, Bryan
Online Submission, Paper presented at the Academy of Human Resource Development International Research Conference in The Americas (Indianapolis, IN, Feb 28-Mar 4, 2007)
While recent discussions of ISO 10015- Guidelines for Training have done much to promote the need for the standard, no interpretation of the standard has been presented that would guide its actual implementation. This paper proposes an interpretation of the ISO 10015 based on the specifications of the guideline and two other standards related to the design of training: the IBSTPI Instructional Design Competencies and the ASTD Competencies for Designing Learning Activities. Then, potential HRD theory and research implications are presented. (Contains 3 tables and 2 figures.)
