Remarks were presented by Carlos J. Alonso, the Edwin B. and Leonore R. Williams Professor and Chair of the Department of Romance Languages at the University of Pennsylvania; Cathy Davidson, Vice Provost for Interdisciplinary Studies at Duke University; John M.
