Job Corps Annual Report: Program Year July 1, 2005 - June 30, 2006
Job Corps
For more than 40 years, Job Corps has led America as one of the most successful job training programs nationwide, meeting the needs of high school graduates and those without a diploma who have the desire to embark on a successful career path. In Program Year 2005, Job Corps implemented a new initiative called STARS (Speakers, Tutors, Achievement, Retention, and Success) to motivate students to strive for excellence by providing them with real-world examples of success. The goal of STARS is to increase student academic achievement, as well as career skills attainment and retention, placing graduates on a path to a solid and sustainable career. The annual report discuses the history and operation of Job Corps, student services, outcomes/costs with a 5-year performance summary, and includes a center directory and regional maps.
