The Santa Ana Partnership
Cournoyer, David, Ed.
W. K. Kellogg Foundation
One of the priority interests of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation is to connect the knowledge and resources of institutions with communities in order to improve the quality of life in community. Partnerships achieve uncommon results. In Santa Ana, California, an unusual partnership of public schools, community college, universities, community organizations, parents, and students have worked together in order to achieve an extraordinary goal--to put all youth on a successful pathway to college. This case study reviews successful strategies of the Santa Ana Partnership. This publication divides into six chapters as follows. (I) Introduction: History of Santa Ana Partnership Initiatives; (II) Background on How Partnerships Work; (III) Stable Partnership Elements Over the Years; (IV) Factors that Have Supported the Partnership; (V) Aspects of the Partnership That Have Evolved Over the Years; and (VI) Future of the Partnership. An Appendix contains: Santa Ana Partnership, Blueprint for Change. A Bibliography concludes this publication.
