This report presents the results of the Illinois Survey of Early Childhood Certificants, which we distributed to over 4,000 individuals in Spring 2005. The survey found that certified teachers are willing to consider working in Illinois early childhood centers under the right conditions, and that better salaries would make such positions more attractive--it is salaries not setting that deter potential recruitees. Many details about the characteristics and work experiences of this Reserve Pool are presented in the report, along with tables and charts comparing the Reserve Pool to other groups of respondents. The following are appended: (1) Response Rate Analysis; and (2) A Closer Look at Incentive Strategies Using Regression Analysis. (Contains 22 tables and 11 figures.)
