The package includes a complete manual for program planning, including roles and responsibilities in a "Born To Read" partnership; planning and implementing the program; promotion, including clip art to create promotional materials; collecting data and evaluating the program; and fund raising and budgeting. Appendices include a letter of agreement and guidelines for biographical information from a guest speaker; curriculum units; age-appropriate activities and books linked with the developmental characteristics of babies from birth to 24 months; how to organize a parenting collection; suggested parenting materials; how to plan and present a library "lapsit"; suggested materials for babies and toddlers; expense voucher; budget worksheets; sample news releases and public service announcements; and evaluation forms for the library planner and health care provider.
