This paper presents summary conclusions reached by discussion panels that participated in the Committee on Architecture for Education's conference. The conference explored the symbiotic relationship between schools and communities and the ways that schools and communities sustain one another. Panel titles were: "City Heights Urban Village"; "High Tech High"; "Educational Center"; "Symbols, Forms, Materials, and Regional Aesthetics: The Sustainability of Culture and the Search for Authenticity"; "Ecology, Landscape Design, and Conservation: Working with Building Systems to Generate Meaningful Spaces for Learning"; "Campus Planning and Community Design: The Impact on Our Quality of Life"; and "The Next Generation: Satellite Learning Centers, Global Teleconferencing Labs, and Public-Private Partnerships."
