Baccalaureate Program Transfer Frameworks: Defining the First 60 Hours of Collegiate Education for Transfer Students. Kentucky Public Colleges and Universities, 2000-2001 Academic Year.
Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education, Frankfort.
This paper presents a transfer framework for students in Kentucky's public colleges and universities. A transfer framework shows students the courses they would take in the first 2 years of a Bachelor's program. It provides information for students to use in planning a college program if they know they are going to begin at one public institution and transfer to another public institution. In order to make the transfer framework work, students must decide on such things as whether or not they will attend more than one public Kentucky college and what they will major in. They must understand such things as: what the framework includes; what general education means; whether the specialty component of the framework is really special; what is important to pay attention to in the framework; and what is necessary to do besides take all of the courses in the framework. This report provides: a list of Kentucky public colleges and universities; a list of institutional transfer contacts; the transfer frameworks; and an alphabetical index of majors (baccalaureate programs).
