This report reflects Waukesha County Technical College's (WCTC) job placement study of 1999 graduates. It summarizes by degrees and programs the employment status, salaries, job titles, and employers of former students who graduated between July 1, 1998 and June 30, 1999. The data were obtained through a survey conducted from October 1999 through January 2000. Nine hundred-forty students graduated in the academic year 1998-99. Among the 522 graduates who responded to our follow-up survey, 96.5 percent of the graduates were very satisfied or satisfied with their training at WCTC. Eighty-four percent of the graduates who were employed found jobs in fields related to their training at WCTC. Graduates frequently indicated "prepare for a job" (43%), "prepare for a career change" (20%), and "improve existing job skills" (12.4%) as their reasons for attending WCTC. The average annual salary for associate degrees was $31,426, and the average annual salary for technical diplomas was $25,043 for graduates in full-time jobs in fields related to WCTC training. (JA)
