Licensing Requirements for Part-Day Children's Programs.
Oklahoma State Dept. of Human Services, Oklahoma City. Office of Child Care.
The Oklahoma Child Care Facilities Licensing Act was amended in 1993 to address part-day child care programs and mandates that the Department of Human Services develop minimum requirements for part-day programs and license them. This document delineates the licensing requirements for part-day child care programs in Oklahoma. Requirements are presented in the areas of program policy and procedure, record keeping, employees, child supervision, physical facilities, indoor equipment for children of different ages, and outdoor safety and play equipment. Requirements for child care practices for infants through 2-year-olds are delineated, including learning activities, water activities, rest time, and behavior and guidance. In addition, requirements are presented regarding health practices, food and nutrition, transportation, food service and sanitation, and fire safety. Eight supplements include the text of the Oklahoma Child Care Facilities Licensing Act, definition of child abuse, suggested indoor and outdoor equipment, and an injury report form. (KB)
