This teacher and student edition, the first in a series of instructional materials on graphic communication, consists of orientation information, teacher pages, and student worksheets. The teacher edition contains these introductory pages: use of this publication; training and competency profile; PrintED crosswalk; instructional/task analysis; basic skills icons and classifications; basic skills matrix; and tools, equipment, and materials list. The teacher edition is divided into 11 units: (1) Orientation; (2) Shop Safety; (3) Related Math and Measuring; (4) Shop Organization; (5) Printing Processes; (6) Paper; (7) Typography; (8) Typesetting; (9) Design Principles; (10) Paste-Up Principles and Procedures; and (11) Proof Procedures and Legal Considerations. The units include suggested activities, instructional plans, teaching suggestions, reference lists, lists of suggested supplemental resources, instructions for evaluating student performance on assignments and job sheets, answers to assignment sheets, written tests, test answer keys, learning activity sheets to be completed by students, models for teachers to use in self-paced or individualized programs, and transparency masters.
