Higher Education Enrollment Statistics and Projections: 1999-2001 Biennium.
Washington State Office of Financial Management, Olympia.
This document consists of tables and figures detailing the status of and projections for public and private institutions of higher education in the state of Washington. Following a brief introduction, Chapter 1 identifies highlights of the report, including: entrance eligibility for public institutions; Washington state higher education enrollment trends, 1980-1997; public four-year universities/colleges; private four-year universities/colleges; degrees awarded; and degree production. Chapter 2 presents data on student characteristics, including age and gender, credit hours enrolled, resident/nonresident status, geographic characteristics, class status and retention, and student flow. Chapter 3 provides data on actual and budgeted full-time equivalents of Washington state two-year and four-year public institutions. Chapter 4 provides baseline fall enrollment projections, 1999-2000 to 2020-2021. Chapter 5 reports on the Applications Match Study 1996-97 follow-up, and fall 1997. This study of unmet demand attempted to obtain an unduplicated count of qualified individuals applying to Washington state institutions who were not served by the state system. Chapter 6 presents Washington state enrollment participation rates by county. Finally, Chapter 7 provides national data for comparison, including state education attainment (1990) and state participation rates. Appendices provide additional historical and current enrollment statistics and supporting and miscellaneous enrollment projection data. (DB)
