CDAT Clarks Drawing Abilities Test.
Clark, Gilbert A.
This manual presents an instrument designed for visual arts education research and as a screening and identification test for use in gifted/talented education for artistically talented students. The test consists of four items or tasks that call for a demonstration of different abilities and skills. Each completed drawing is assessed and assigned a score through use of a Scoring Criteria Scale. Accumulated scores allow subjects within groups to be rank ordered. A 5 point scale, sensitive to graded differences among students at the same grade or age level, yields scores that differentiate between poor, below average, average, above average, and superior responses in all groups at the targeted age range, from 10 years old to adult. The manual also presents background information describing how earlier researchers collected children's art work and administered tests to determine various aspects of what children's art works look like at different ages and levels of development. Contains 69 references. (MM)
