This anthology contains 47 papers on college student affairs administration, focusing on current issues, trends, and research in the field of student affairs administration. Articles in Part 1, "Foundations of Student Affairs Administration," provide an overview of the past and present of college student affairs, including the evolution of the field over time, implications of the past for the present and future, and the place of student affairs in the development of higher education in the United States. Part 2, entitled "Contexts of College Student Affairs Administration," includes articles on the influence of external contexts and constituencies of higher education, descriptions of institutional structures and cultures within which student affairs exists, and general discussion of the characteristics and needs of undergraduates.
