This information packet describes the teacher's role in Car Club, a program designed to convince junior high school students to use motor vehicle safety belts. Students are approached as both passengers and future drivers to help them examine their roles and responsibilities relating to safety belts and occupant protection systems, including air bags. The guide includes: outlines of the four modules; an Answer Key for student self-assessment and discovery sheets, and for a student activity exercise; a listing of vehicle occupant safety resources; and Student Activity Sheets (Self-Assessment, Discovery Sheets, Short Spins, Road Trips, Logos and Certificate, and Parent/Student Contract). The resource list highlights print materials, videos, tapes, films, and public service announcements and where they can be obtained; and associations and organizations that can provide additional materials and support.
