This document summarizes the academic standards-related activities of 26 national organizations, business organizations, and professional organizations. Each summary includes contact information and describes the organization's mission and purpose, interest in standards, and activities for technical assistance, dissemination, assessment, and teacher education. The inventory will help the National Education Goals Panel identify organizations and associations that: (1) conduct activities related to "world-class" standards; (2) develop performance standards and assessments; (3) give states and localities technical assistance and feedback on their standards; (4) develop comments on content standards; and (5) inform educators and the public.
