This document reports on the 1991 Planning Meeting on Asian/Pacific Joint Production (AJP) Program of Materials for Neo-Literates in Rural Areas, the purpose of which was to discuss Asian Cultural Center for Unesco (ACCU) literacy programs to be carried out under regional cooperation. Opening addresses focused on the success of the cooperative effort and suggested points for improvement of AJP. Other reports addressed the Asia-Pacific Program of Education for All (APPEAL), ACCU regional literacy activities, and presentation of three newly produced AJP materials. Modifications are suggested to draft AJP materials. Revisions to the "Guidebook for Development and Production of Materials for Neo-Literates" are discussed. Training of personnel in the field of literacy material development by way of regional and national workshops was planned.
