This document consists of narrative and products from a project designed to implement a model sequential technical preparation program for training industrial technicians and to develop model sequential technical preparation programs for business management and engineering technology. Contents include the following: the tech prep calendar and time sheet; grant abstract; year two expectations correlated to objectives and attachments; agendas of executive meetings; strategies for implementation of the grant; materials from Lieutenant Governor Rural Affairs Council highlighting the grant; correspondence and receipts from the applied academics pilot projects; materials from the Illinois Occupational Information Coordinating Committee Tech Prep Project to pilot a junior high career system and develop labor market information to assist counselors in promoting tech prep to students and parents; and the Illinois Employability Skills Field Test and teacher surveys with responses. The largest part of the document is devoted to the 30 grant objectives which are presented in numerical order. For each objective, procedures, persons responsible, due date, and evaluation are presented. A description of activities is followed by attachments, including correspondence, charts, forms, and any other materials, instructional or otherwise, that were developed to meet that objective. Other contents include news items and pictures, Tech Prep Collaboration Mini Grant Summary, and handouts, including materials from presentations and workshops. (YLB)
