The booklet describes: (1) the safety standards for child restraint systems; (2) the types of child restraint systems; (3) the responsibilities of drivers other than parents/legal guardians passengers; (4) the protection of pregnant women; (5) the protection of older children; (6) ways to shop for a child restraint system; (7) special case installation; (8) procedures to report a safety-related defect in a restraint system; and (9) the names and telephone numbers of organizations that can provide more information about child restraint systems.
