A Place for Advanced Placement Courses in Missouri's Colleges and Universities. A Listing of Advanced Placement Courses, Test Scores, Credit Hours Granted, and Courses Satisfied.
Missouri Coordinating Board for Higher Education, Jefferson City.
This report presents the current Advanced Placement policies of 51 Missouri public and private, 2- and 4-year colleges and universities. It is noted that students taking Advanced Placement courses develop high academic expectations and increased satisfaction from challenging coursework. In addition, the completion of Advanced Placement courses inspires a sense of achievement and sets a challenging standard for excellence in teaching and learning in the high schools where they are offered. These courses are one way for strengthening students' preparation for college as well as for the demands placed upon high school graduates who enter the work force directly out of high school. The report presents each school's specific Advanced Placement Course policy, the scores required, the hours granted, and the institutional courses satisfied by advanced placement. Also included are a contact name and phone number for each school. (GLR)
