This document describes how 10 mathematics and numeracy teachers from Technical and Further Education colleges and community providers in Australia assisted in identification of mathematics skills that would form the mathematics component of the Adult Basic Education Curriculum Framework. The draft competencies are organized under the headings of measurement, space, number, data, and algebra. The four-page narrative of the development of the draft mathematics competencies is followed by the draft competencies themselves, arranged according to strands: measurement, space, number, data, and algebra. Competencies are grouped within each strand by level. A listing of the draft competencies arranged according to levels is then provided. Within each level, the competencies are grouped by strand.
