This handbook sets out guidelines for the administration of resource centers for schools in the Northwest Territories, Canada, offers definitions of suitable and adequate resource services, and may be used as a planning tool for management staff. Four major topics are covered: (1) jurisdictional roles and responsibilities of the Department of Education and individual boards of education; (2) educational resource services offered by the Department of Education; (3) educational resource services offered by boards of education in the areas of program support services, technical support services, consultant services, research and development services, and cooperative and collaborative services; and (4) operational guidelines for all resource centers for administration and financing, staffing, and the facility.
