This document consists of the first three issues of a newsletter written by the members of the Making Thinking Visible Project. The first newsletter describes collaborative planning as it related to writing, discusses school projects using collaborative planning, presents a dialogue between two students using the process, and compares collaborative planning, prsents a dialogue between two students using the process, and compares collaborative planning with peer response. The second newsletter includes examples of classroom teachers adapting collaborative planning to classroom goals, snapshots from research, and a description of a collaborative planning computer program developed by fifth-graders. The third newsletter discusses the Making Thinking Visible Project, the metaphors of collaborative planning, collaborative planning in a neighborhood literacy project, the concept of the supporter, and collaborative planning in classrooms.
