American Cultures: A Multicultural Humanities Bibliography.
Lewis, Chris H.
This bibliography was compiled as a resource for instructors teaching the American Cultures course in the Program in American Studies at the University of Minnesota. It lists materials on the culture, literature, and history of the diverse peoples of America: African American, American Indian, Asian American, Chicano, Latino, and European American. Its three sections represent three historical periods (up to mid-19th century, mid-19th century to mid-20th century, and 20th century). Each section lists materials covering a broad historical perspective on diversity as well as materials focused on each ethnic group. Materials on ethnic women's culture and history are included in each ethnic group bibliography. Conceptual frameworks and pedagogical approaches to diversity are included in the broad historical perspectives segment of each section. (JB)
