Strategies for Communications, Math with Technology.

This manual was designed for an inservice workshop with business educators on strategies for math communication. The focus is on basic writing and math skills. Technology is incorporated in the curriculum. The manual is divided into six sections; four sections deal with communications skills and two sections with math skills. Each section includes a number of teaching strategies for the goal or goals listed, student activities for each strategy and/or goal, and references. The communication sections are as follows: (1) listening; (2) reading; (3) oral; and (4) written. The math sections are survival/basic and applied. In addition, this manual includes suggested transitional services for nontraditional populations such as the physically and mentally handicapped and other at-risk groups. Included as an attachment are worksheets for communications/listening and applied math. (NLA)
