This guide presents a set of instructional materials that facilitate process learning of second languages. The guide consists of introductory information, and a series of situations to be used as classroom language use exercises. These situations allow the student to use the language being studied while learning it. The situation topics include leisure time, daily activities, food, possessions, places, and descriptions. In the classroom, students are generally paired, and one student is asked to respond to a specific situation, addressing the other student. Variations on that procedure are also suggested. The exercises are intended to be graded based on practice, effort, and creativity. The situations are designed to facilitate oral work but can be used to stimulate written work as well. (MSE)
