Outlook for the 90s. Occupational Supply/Demand Analysis Notebook for the State of Maine.
Maine State Dept. of Educational and Cultural Services, Augusta. Bureau of Adult and Secondary Vocational Education.
This document analyzes the occupational supply/demand data provided by the Maine Occupational Information Coordinating Committee's Occupational Information System. The information on occupational demand is derived from the Department of Labor's Occupational Employment Survey, a survey of business and industry that attempts to quantify the demand for employees in each occupation. Summaries by specific occupations are provided for programs currently offered by secondary vocational regions and centers or by postsecondary vocational-technical institutes in the state. The data are summarized in a table that follows the analysis. The report also supplies secondary vocational education enrollment statistics by program and facility for the program year 1987-88. Notes to the report outline the supply/demand outlook for specific secondary occupational training programs related to occupations in the hospitality, recreation, and tourism industries. (KC)
