The handbook contains State Education Department rules and regulations that govern speech-language pathology and audiology in New York State. The handbook also describes licensure and first registration as a licensed speech-language pathologist or audiologist. The introduction discusses professional regulation in New York State while the second section gives licensure requirements and application instructions. The following data are provided: (1) licensure forms for both speech-language pathology and audiology; (2) the texts of relevant sections of Education Law (Articles 130 and Article 159) and the Commissioner's Regulations (Part 59 and Part 75); (3) texts of the rules of the Board of Regents concerning disciplinary proceedings in the professions, the Committee on the Professions, determination of good moral character, and unprofessional conduct; (4) guidelines for evaluating an applicant's experience and listings of registered professional preparation programs in New York; and (5) a listing of graduate programs in speech-language pathology or audiology accredited by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
